With temperatures soaring into the 90s in South Florida last week, The Humane Society of Miami struggled to beat the heat when their air conditioning system broke down.  After a plea to the community for help, they have managed to raise over $89,000, well over their $85,000 goal.  It was Commissioner Sally Heyman and Pedro Munilla of MCM Engineering & General Contractors that served up a $5,000 check to the Humane Society on the morning of July 16th, all to give a helping hand to the animals in need.  Present were Humane Society administration, Commissioner Heyman (and her chocolate lab Andy) and Pedro Munilla.
