Come out to adopt a new member into the family at Miami-Dade Animal Services on Saturday June 7, 2008. From 5 pm - 8 pm come to this groovy event and receive free goody bags for adopted pets. Join the computer technology provider IT by the Sea in Fort Myers, Florida on Sat. June 7, 2008 for their grand opening and pet party. IT by the Sea invites you to come out with your friends, family and yes, pets. Duke's Waggin' Tail Grooming will be on hand as will a vet for on-site pet vaccinations. At 1 pm there will ge an Ugly Dog Contest. A drawing contest will also take place for the young artist in your family.
Animal Refuge Center of Fort Myers will also be on hand with animals available for adoption. Come out for some pet-friendly fun and enjoy games, prizes, food and more. The event will run from 10 am - 4 pm.
The Humane Society of Broward County would like to invite you to their 3rd Annual Adopt-A-Thon June 6-8. Join Big 105.9 radio hosts Jen Wylde, Seabass, Toast and Jay Zeager at the HSBC shelter and big home a new furry family member! Activities such as a bounce house for kids, BBQ and face painting will be offered.
When you adopt a pet during this event you will receive a free bag of treats from Purina One or Friskies (while supplies last). The shelter will be opened until midnight on Firday June 6 so come on out whenever you can! The adoption fees are $75 for cats, $90 for dogs and $125 for puppies. These fees include spay/neuter surgery, preliminary vaccinations, a 14-day health care plan courtesy of VCA Animal Hospitals and microchipping with registration. If you're a cat lover in the South Florida area save the date for July 19, 2008. The Platinnum Coast Cat Fanciers are presenting their cat show at the Fort Myers Harborside Convention Hall from 9 am - 4 pm. There will be vendors selling a multitude of products for your feline friends as well as cat breeders and unique cats. Watch these cats compete for the blue ribbon in various categories. The Animal Rescue Center of Fort Myers will be on hand with adoptions along with other area rescue groups and shelters. A $5 donation would be much appreciated at the door.
Join the Humane Society of Naples for Cats, Kittens and Cocktails, a party at Shula's Steak House at the Naples Hilton to help raise funds and supplies for the humane society. This event was hugely popular last year and there is not fee to attend! All funds raised will come from the sale of raffle tickets. Come out to Downtown Naples as celebrate the staffordshire terrier. All responsible am staff/pit bull owners are welcome to come out and bring their well-behaved and trained canine to this Pittie Party. Over 50 dogs were in attendance last year at the successful event. After some playtime with the pups, there will be a walk down the length of 5th Avenue to show off these wonderful pets. Bring your canine companion to Dog Day at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami, Florida on Sunday Sept. 14 from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Join Fairchild for a day of dog-friendly activities, demonstrations, lectures, and pet-related vendors. All dogs must be pre-registered to attend. Please call (305) 663-8091 to register. Please remember that this is the only day of the year that dogs are allowed inside the garden. Pet owners will be given clean-up bags upon arrival and are asked to please clean up after their dog.

The Second Race for the Animals takes off this fall at Okeeheelee Park's Micanopy Pavilion in West Palm Beach with something for everyone and the family.
The race will feature a 5k Run/Walk, as well as a 1 mile Family/Dog Walk.
Throughout the day you can learn about adopting a pet, view a K-9 and Bloodhound demonstration put on by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, peruse pet-related vendors & products, as well as other assorted pet-intensive activities.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami is partnering with The Body Shop from 12 - 3 pm Saturday, September 6, 2008 for a special outreach event at the Aventura Mall the first Saturday of this month.
As a way of showing thanks for your generosity to the animals, The Body Shop is offering free makeovers for donations of $5 or more at our information tables outside Macy's. Beauty technicians from The Body Shop will have makeover stations set up next to the humane society tables so your friends or kids can play with our adoptable dogs while you enjoy a little pampering!
Volunteers will be available to discuss adoptions and Humane Society of Greater Miami's programs and services.
