Join the Dumb Friends League in Denver, Colorado at both their shelters for a Feline Fiesta. Come out to learn cat care and behavior tips, shop feline friendly vendors, and see their adoptable cats and kittens. There will also be games for kids and prizes. The goal of Dumb Friends is to adopt 100 cats in one day. All cat adopters will receive a free t-shirt. There will be a special Cat Exhibition from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Quebec Street shelter. The entire event will take place from 10:30 am - 6 pm. The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is hosting the A Cause for Paws 5K Doggie Dash and 3K Walk-a-thon on Sep. 13, 2008. This event is now in it's 19th year and will include not only the walk and run but entertainment, vendors, prizes, food, games and much more!

On-site registration on the day of the event will begin at 7 am and runt ill the start of the Doggie Dash at 8:30 am and the Walk-a-thon at 8;45 am. After, there will be a Pet Expo featuring Paw Print Art and other pet activities. The event concludes at noon. The registration free is $35 for adults, $15 for kids 17 and under and will include an event t-shirt, pancake breakfast and entry to the Pet Expo. Registration for dogs is free! This Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9, come to the 10th annual Wags & Purrs Adopt-a-thon and help the Dumb Friends League find homes for the hundreds of animals that come into its shelters during the summer months. They will be extending their hours from 9am-9pm on both days at the Dumb Friends League Shelter (2080 S. Quebec Street in Denver) and at the Buddy Center (4556 Castleton Court in Castle Rock). Come out to the Glendale Farm Open Space (i-25 and Surrey Ridge, Exit 190) from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm on Saturday September 20th, 2008 for the 4th annual Wag 'n Trail, a 1.6 mile hike for you and your dog. Proceeds benefit the Dumb Friends League's Buddy Center in Castle Rock.
