The Cardiff 101 Chamber presents the Dog Days of Summer, entertainment for dogs and their pet parents. Come out to the Dog Days and get some exercise (you and your pooch), socialize, enjoy pet contests, pet products, animal adoptions, vendors and much much more! Join dogs and their owners in Sacramento, California for the Bark at the Capitol, a day devoted to our canine friends. Concerned Dog Owners of America will host this event at Capitol Park on Wednesday June 4, 2008 from 10 am- 4 pm. There will be an 11:30 am Mutt Parade as well as entertainment, sheep herding, flyball canine relays, police/military dogs, dancing dogs, therapy dogs and much more!
Admission is free but at $5 donation would be much appreciated. A portion of the proceeds will go to Concerned Dog Owners of American and VetDogs, a new program from the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. For more information visit www.barkatthecapitol.org.
Come and join ONLYforPETLOVERS and tons of other pet lovers, companies and organizations for the largest dog parage in the country! The Big Dog Parade & Canine Festival will be held on Saturday June 7, 2008 at Old Chase Palm Park in Santa Barbara, California. Over 16,000 spectators are estimated to gather along State Street to watch this amusing canine parade.
When the parade ends the festival begins and will include vendor booths, live music, a kid's zone, food and much more. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Big Dog Foundation, a non-profit charity that benefits dogs, children and dogs that help people.
If you love pugs are just love dogs come out to the Pug Rescue of Santa Barbara's Annual Party. Bring your dog and experience a fun-filled afternoon with the family. There will be photo contests, raffles, food and lots of pug-filled fun. Admission is $10/adults (includes one free raffle ticket) while children 12 and under are free. Join the San Diego Humane society at their 22nd Annual Fur Ball on Saturday Aug. 16, 2008 from 6 pm till midnight. You and your well-mannered, on-leash doggie companion can come out to this annual gala which benefits animals and vital community programs.
The black-tie optional gala will be held alfresco under the stars at the Humane Society's San Diego Campus for Animal Care.
There will be live music, dancing and a live auction and raffles. The event, with dinner by Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille, will honor the Animal Rescue Reserve (ARR).

Check out Nuts for Mutts The Walk! On October 19th, 2008, join animal lovers in a 5K cross country walk through the rolling hills of Pierce College, overlooking the San Fernando Valley. The route will have "Pawzstations" with plenty of water stops, food and fun! Walk with your dog, kids or just yourself. Registration is free. Gather support from friends, family, and colleagues to meet your minimum Walk for Paws fundraising goal of $150 (or more). Funds raised help support New Leash On Life Animal Rescue and Lend a Paw. Join the City of West Hollywood for some Halloween fun! On Saturday Oct. 26, 2008 beginning at 1 pm there will be a Doggy Halloween Costume Contest in West Hollywood Park. Come on out with your friends, family and most importantly your dressed up pooch to compete in this contest.
Join the Orange County SPCA for their 11th Annual Walk for the Animals on Sunday Sept. 14, 2008 starting at 9 am. Come out with your family, friends and of course pooch to Huntington Beach Central park to support the SPCA and have some pet-friendly fun. There will be vendors, raffles and drawings, pledge prizes, silent auctions and much more! Come out and support Valley Oak SPCA at their Dog Daze of Summer Costume Parade & Doggie Carnival on Saturday Sept. 27. The parade starts at 9 am at Fox Theater (Main & Floral) in Visalia, California and will proceed west to Recreation Park (Center & Jacob) where the carnival will be held. 8th Annual Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair
On October 12, 2008 (11-4) at William S. Hart Park (151 N. San Fernando Road), check out the 8th Annual Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair.
Admission is free.
The event features numerous vendors of pet foods, supplies and services participate. Guests can enjoy great "people" food while their pets sample tasty treats! Balloon jumps are on site for the kids. Information/Education booths are set up as well as a raffle. Low-cost vaccines and spay/neuter referrals are available. Pet psychics, photographers and artists are just some of the unique and creative activities available. Freebies are everywhere and fun fills the air!
Our pet fair also includes the very popular Fun Dog Show, which is open to all dogs. Categories include: Biggest / Smallest, Best Vocalist, Longest Tail / Largest Ears, Mystery Mutt, Most Spots, Most Physically Challenged and Silly Pet Trick. New categories already under review!
