Veterinarian's Dog "Puppy Napped" in Boynton Beach, Florida
03-19-08

By Lalinda De La Fuente

Alaskan malamute puppy returned to owner today! Who would steal a fluffy cute Alaskan malamute right out of their owner's arms?! It's a twisted world. Here is Robin Valentine's plea for the return of her 12-week-old puppy made to the Broward Humane Society.

Hi,

If there is anything you can do to help me find my puppy, I would be forever grateful. The police came an hour after my 911 call and I called the minute she was taken. They took a report, and have not been helpful. See the attached pictures; she is very distinctive in appearance.

My puppy Atreya was stolen tonight from Jason's Deli near Target, in Boynton Beach FL. She is very distinctive: she is a 12 week old Alaskan Malamute puppy with an AVID microchip registered to me. She is 25 lbs, and answers to Trey-trey or Atreya (a-TRAY- uh).The police crime report # is 13492, officer John Huntington BB Police.

There were witnesses who described the thieves as two Caucasian women, heavy set in their 50s-60s, brunette. The women followed me in their vehicle while I was walking my puppy. At 9:15 p.m., they pulled up next to me outside Jason's Deli and grabbed Atreya, howling, and jumped into their Lexus SUV RX model Baby Blue in color and drove off without headlights on North Congress avenue, Northbound. We did not get the plate number.

This is a rare breed dog in Florida. A cash reward is offered by me and my family for her safe return. We beg that someone would at least drop her off at an animal hospital facility that could scan her microchip and return my baby. This dog will grow to be 100lbs, and has a long, double coat. She will succumb to the heat if left outside. She is NOT fully vaccinated, and too young. If anyone sees her and can either detain or get plate numbers and names of those who have stolen her, please, I beg you to call the police, news, me, PLEASE help. I am a veterinarian living in Palm Beach County, and will post signs too, as best I can.

Sincerely,

Robin C. Valentine
