United States and other private organizations, Miami-Dade, FL Crime
stoppers is offering up to $3,500 to anyone with viable information.
According to MDPD Detective Robert Williams, during the last month approximately 18 to 23 cats have been found mutilated and tortured on their owner’s lawns.
“The way that these animals were killed was very graphic and troubling,” Detective Williams said.
Three more corpses were found over the holiday weekend. The Mayor of Palmetto Bay, FL has issued a warning to keep all family cats indoors.
MDPD is asking anyone with information to please come forward. A person capable of causing such harm to so many defenseless creatures may one day be capable of causing harm to humans.
“Keep an eye on your animals. Be aware of your surroundings such as individuals in your area, who may be lurking around that you don’t recognize. If you see someone who is not from your area, acting suspiciously, call the police and have us go and check them out. That might be the missing link we are looking for,” Williams said.
